Happy Birthday America!

We love the fourth of July!
We love the Fireworks and the Barbeques and getting all dressed up in our red, white and blue! We'd be lying if we didn't mention the bike parade!
But what we look forward to the most isn't any of those.
We live in this amazing neighborhood right in the shadows of the Jordan River Temple.
Every year they hold a Flag raising ceremony at 8:30am sharp!
We all sit on the hill at the pavillion behind the church and the boyscouts do the colorguard march to the sound of the drums ratta-tatting. Then we all rise and place our hands on our hearts as they arrive at the pavillion and "Post the colors" (or set up the small flag) in a flag stand. We then remain silent as they pass a large american flag around the field for all to touch and honor for a moment. It is an amazing time to reflect on our countries Freedom and all our blessings! The Large flag is then raised up the pole and we recite the pledge of allegiance.
The Veterans who have served our Country are recognized. A father and his two sons sing Amazng Grace. we all sing America the Beautiul. We hear from someone who has fought for our freedom in a war. It's hard not to feel a strong spirit there.
The speaker talked about those who have come before us and bravely sacrificed for our sake!
God Bless America! Thank You to all the men and women who serve Her!
