Our Redneck Baby is Two!

The baby of the family has turned 2....

That may have been a sad moment for some of you in your own lives'.....

However,   I couldnt be more extatic!

The toddler stage is my absolute favorite!

Toddlers exploring and testing and making messes...

I'll take all of that over feeding a baby in the night.

Kie Ellie Hawker
A.K.A.;

Kie rye Pottomus -like hippopotamus for her amazing ability to knock over
a full grown, unsuspecting, adult......This girl is rough and tough!

Mekenzie and kADE are flat out, no match for Kie.

Rye-Rye-  Big sis is Lou Lou...Their names are so nice....you say it twice!

Born on November 4th ,2007
three days after my birthday!
at
IHC hospital in Murray, UT

She was the 102nd  birth in the new hospital (after only about 1 month being opened)

So why is she our Redneck Baby????

I was awake all night, crampy and uncomfortable.

At one point i thought i had wet the bed so i got up and changed my self.

I wasnt due for 2 more weeks so it hadnt crossed my mind that my water had broke.

I tossed and turned until i was just exhausted.
I fell asleep finally at 4 in the morning wondering if i was in labor but too tired to care.

I could faintly hear the beep of an alarm clock going off.
 I remember thinking ...

"oh Matt must be off to work at Day Break"  (which was just up the road)

I was sure that i would rest for a couple hours and then call him, if I indeed was in labor,
to escort me to the hospital.

Well....I woke up in killer pain at 6am and was wondering why Matt had went to work so
early. I knew he had been gone for at least and hour or so.

Then it hit me like a ton of BRICKS!

MY HUSBAND WAS SKIPPING WORK TODAY TO GO HUNTING!

HE WAS NOT DOWN THE ROAD WORKING.

I AM IN FULL BLOWN LABOR AND MY HUSBAND IS IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH A RIFLE
LOOKING FOR A FAT ELK.

THIS IS NO GOOD!

I could barely walk during contractions at this point but i managed to make
my way to the basement apartment where my mother lived.

" I gotta get to the hospital fast!"  that was all i had to say.

I got to the hospital at 6:47 am and they told me i was a 7.

My mom started calling around and my Brother in Law thought he
knew where Matt  MIGHT be hunting.
He volunteered to Hike around the Kamas area an hour and a half away
and try to find the father of my child.

None of the staff could believe that he was hunting and i was in labor.

Word spread quickly and it was a hot topic.
I got my epideral and was
ready to start pushing at about 10:30 am when Matt and his dad,
dressed in full Camoflouge, and smelling like the forest ,(Thus the label "Redneck baby") , came hustling into the room.

Everyone was sure that this man was in the dog house!
Dr.'s, the aneshesiologist, nurses, and Matt's Mom....were all awaiting the blow up.

I was just happy he was there!
iT WAS A MIRACLE THAT BRO -IN-LAW HAD FOUND HIM!

The fun had only just begun!

I got sick from the anesthetic and started to vomit.

With one big HEAVE..... the rest of my water broke and shot out at the

unsuspecting Doctor.
He had no idea what was coming at him and he reacted so fast thinking  the baby was coming out at him
that he went flying off his stool  hitting the floor.

He got up so fast thinking the baby had shot out and the nurses were all laughing hysterically.

I had puked her head out.

He said one more dry heave and she'll be here....
...and so i did......dry heave....
...and she was born!

while he was sewing me up.... he again fell off of his stool....NO LIE.

He got up sooo embarassed...the nurses again in hysterics.

all my family could say was..."only to you shell...that could only happen to you."

It was like a circus of a birth.

Less than 2 hours later...

i found out my epideral had done the whole  1 in 270 chance  malfunction and blew a hole in
my spinal cord and spinal fluid was rushing to my brain giving me horrible migraines for
a week straight.  I had to have an unheard of, 3 blood transfusions from my arm to my spine.

to try to patch the hole with a "blood patch".

Each time, i couldnt move a single digit... for one entire hour after the transfusion.

And this my Friends....is why i am happy with 3 munchkids and do not plan on
having anymore!

bUT WE SHALL SEE IF GOD AGREES.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!
