FUNNY STORY:

SO WE STARTED A FUN TRADITION OF INDULGING MOM AND
VISITING A HISTORICAL TOWN OUT BY MANTI. IT IS CALLED SPRINGCITY AND
EVERY MEMORIAL WEEKEND THEY HAVE A TOWN WIDE HOME TOUR AND YOU CAN PAY A RIDICULOUS (BUT WORTH IT IN MY EYES) AMOUNT TO TOUR THESE HOMES THAT WERE BUILT IN THE EARLY 1800'S BUT ARE NOW LIVED IN. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MIX OF OLD AND NEW....AND YOU KNOW I'M ALL ABOUT THE MIX OF OLD AND NEW!!!!!

NOW FOR THE GOOD PART.....
JUST INCASE YOU WEREN'T AWARE..I DO NOT MIND EMBARASSING MYSELF FOR THE SAKE OF OF SHARING A FEEL GOOD FUNNY STORY.
SO HERE GOES...WE TALKED IT UP TO THE KIDS FOR DAYS..."SPRINGCITY" WE SANG
"LET'S ALL COUNT DOWN TO THE SPRINGCITY TRIP" "OH WHAT FUN WE WILL HAVE AS WE WALK THROUGH THE OLD HOUSES " MATT AND I WENT ON AND ON FOR DAYS . ANYONE WHO WOULD LISTEN GOT THE EARFULL! WE INVITED FRIENDS ...WE INVITED FAMILY.... "COME ONE, COME ALL ON A SUPER FUN TRIP TO
SPRINGCITY...TOUR THE HOMES WITH THE HAWKERS AND EAT AT THE BARBEQUE IN THE PARK AT THE CENTER OF THE TOWN ....... "
OH YAH WE HAD IT ALL TALKED UP!
THEN MEMORIAL DAY HAD FINALLY ARRIVED....WE WOKE UP EARLY AND JUMPED IN THE CAR...WE COULD HARDLY CONTAIN OUR EXCITEMENT AS WE TOOK THE 2 AND A HALF HOUR DRIVE. AS WE PULLED INTO TOWN READY TO JUMP OUT OF THE CAR OR BURST WITH ANXIOUSNESS.........WE COULDN'T HELP BUT NOTICE THE LACK OF
HUB-BUB GOIN' ON. IT GOT A LITTLE QUIET IN THE CAR.....OUR BUBBLES WERE BURSTING...THE AIR WAS SLOWLY DEFLATING OUT OF OUR LITTLE PATHETIC BALLOONS...
THE TOWN WAS DEAD.....(EXCEPT FOR SANCHO THE HUGE DOG TAKING A WALK WITH HIS OWNER) SO WE TRIED TO PLAY IT COOL...,EVEN TO EACHOTHER , WE HOP OUT OF THE TRUCK AT THE GAS STATION AND ACT LIKE WE ARE EXCITED JUST TO SEE THE BIG DOGGY AND DRINK OUT OF THE NATURAL WELL ON THE CORNER....
LIKE THATS WHAT WE MEANT TO DO...COME AND MEET SANCHO AND GET WATER.....

MATT WALKS AWAY ALL NON-CHALANT AND COMES OUT THE GAS STATION DOORS TWO MINUTES LATER AND ANNOUNCES "SATURDAY." ALL MONOTONE...

WE MISSED THE WHOLE THING....IT WAS APPARENTLY ON SATURDAY....BUT WE WERE HERE ON MONDAY... NERDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOMEBODY BETTER OPEN UP SOME HOUSES AND THE CITY HALL CUZ I CAME TO SEE ME SOME HISTORY.....

BUT I WILL SAY ONE THING ABOUT US NERDY LITTLE HAWKERS...WE MADE A GRAND OLE TIME OF OUR OWN!!!!! WE BUILT A DAM IN THE STREAM THAT RUNS THROUGH A DESERT PATCH ABOVE THE TOWN AND CHASED LITTLE LIZARDS...WE PLAYED ON THE PLAYGROUND...ALL BY OURSELVES!!!! WE TOURED THE TOWN ON FOOT (AND SHOULDERS) AND MAKED FOR OURSELVES A "DAM" GOOD TIME!!!

Our "Bloom Where You are Planted" Activity

Concentration a must!

AHHHHH finally finished!!!

We planted 72 plants or 216 seeds in our mini greenhouse
Monday night for Family Home Evening. Kie tried to eat the poor seeds so she went "night, night" for the rest of the activity. L.O.L. We talked about how everyone is born into different circumstances yet we are all expected to "bloom where we are planted"
or make the most of our unique situations , doing all we can to become what our Heavenly Father wants us to be!
While it is true some people are born with seemingly more talents or better financial situations or more loving homes than others.....
We all still have our own trials that will test us in this life.
The goal is to reach our own personal full potential on this journey...
proving that we are worthy to live with Him again someday.

Dance Competitions

Mekenzie and "Boo", ( which we affectionately call my

neice Madison), did a tap dance to "I Feel Like A Woman"

in their neon green zebra print tutu and black feathered caps on

stage Saturday at Taylorsville High.

Grandma "Meaney", (which we also affectionately call Matt's mom),

owns Local Motion Dance Studio where they take tap and ballet.

Their dance took 1st place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats girls!!!!

This weekend my niece Madison (6)

and my nephews; Brayden(9) and Drew(21 mos)

hung out with us while their Mom and Dad stayed by their baby sister's side

at Primary CHildrens Hospital ....Again. Miley (5 mos) has RSV again.

For the 2nd time in a month. The Poor munchkin!!!!

It was a busy weekend with 6 kids and dance competions all day Saturday.

The fort used up most of the old scrap fence pieces and sticks in the backyard!

Hammers and nails and greenery for camoflauge= FUN FUN FUN!

But Hey....

We survived! and Miley is out of the Hospital!

Lil' Trooper

Poor Kenzie stuck on the couch with the flu.

She missed the first two days back on track at school.

I haven't really included her in any of the posts yet so I felt the need

to explain why.....Don't want anyone accusing me of favoring the other two!

(notice in the background there is a box of "make it all better") ha ha ha

I honestly did not do that on purpose! It's just really there with us all the time.

Sad, but totally true.

That and Dr. Pepper...make me a better person.

I'd like to give a Shout out

....And This lil' piggy ate mom's chocolate.

My shout out is for

this here friend who has never let me down...(well only once when i

got a stale box from Walgreen's) ...so....who rarely lets me down.

A friend who is frequently there for me in the middle of the night and

very early in the morning...and well....in the middle of most days...

ok, all days.....

I just really cherish the bond we have and I don't care who knows it!

I owe my sanity to this friend ......

so ...Toffifee.... this one's for you!

Buried Pirate Treasure

X marks the spot Matey

So Kade is yelling to me for several minutes from upstairs...

Nothing new...I can't hear him... he won't come to me...

I say "no buddy, I'm not coming up there, you come down here..."

Finally he comes downstairs all nakey and I of course say

"Kade go back up stairs and cover your body..,"

to which he replies "I can't , there's pirate treasure in my nose"

Turns out he was getting dressed and decided that the playmobile gold pirate coin,

that was on the floor in his room,

would fit nicely in his nostril.

I could have died. Not because he put some small object up his nose,(kids do that

sort of thing all the time right) but because this would be the 3rd time.

There was no way i was showing up at his Dr.'s agian for this reason!

After 20 minutes of me trying to tell a panic stricken 3 year old

how to blow out his nose but only breath in through his mouth,

I had an Epiphany.

What if he gets on all 4's with his head down

and I place my mouth over his and blow.

So I did, (hey, it seemed better than the alternative.)

One big blow into his mouth and tons of snot AND THE PIRATE
TREASURE......came shooting out all over me!

AHHHHH Sweet Slimy Victory!!!!

which by the way I think I am losing.

Still..on the bright side....It is pretty neat that this little man knows

what he wants and stops at nothing to make sure he gets it.

Can I endure and cultivate this long enough to produce a

very productive.....GO GETTER????

So I convinced myself to crawl out of bed today...

even though mekenzie(5) is sick and vomiting...

and despite the fact that it is Monday.

We all know what Monday means...

Hubby back to work ...mom on "damage control"

The house looks like it's never been cleaned before.

House wives should get paid as much, if not more, than Incident Management workers

that you see on the freeway after a huge, messy, wreck.

Infact, that is my new Monday Mommy title...Incident Management.

I shall now go and Drink a Dr. Pepper and cry.
